Sustainable Use of Indigenous Fruit Trees in North Central Namibia

CRIAA SA-DC, in partnership with TTC and its local associations, is conducting an applied and participatory research project on understanding and supporting local communities in the conservation and sustainable use of indigenous fruit trees in the Ohangwena and Oshikoto regions. The project has a special focus on Ximenia and is funded by the GEF-Small Grant Project through UNDP. The National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) is providing botanical expertise and field support. The project is ongoing from November 2021 to May 2023. The coordinator is M. Mallet, with field officer N. Nambala, and NBRI (Economic Botany Section) is led by Steve Carr and David Aiyambo.
